Adjacent to its existing School of Midwifery Practice & Primary Health Care at village Iswal, district Udaipur, Rajasthan, ARTH on 23 July 2013 commenced construction of a 12 bed rural hospital. When operational, the hospital will absorb ARTH’s current reproductive and child health services being offered from 4 small rented rooms of a village 5 km away from Iswal. The new hospital will also provide an opportunity to grow the range of services to include general health care and planned surgeries. More importantly, the hospital will serve as clinical training venue for student nurse-midwives from the local tribal community, who will be enrolled at the School of Midwifery Practice for a 2 year auxiliary nurse-midwife (ANM) course.
